About Me

My name is Zach Austin, and I am a professional play-by-play broadcaster, host, and producer based in Central Massachusetts.

My long-term career goal is to work full-time in sports broadcasting, ideally as a play-by-play broadcaster. Most of all, I see myself as a storyteller. The goal of all my work is to not just describe the plays in front of me, but to also showcase the human stories behind them.

Why Broadcasting?

I’ve always loved watching sports even though I was not the best athlete myself. I always thought sports reporters were cool, and when I’d watch a football game on TV, I’d say the same things the commentators would say at the same time, so it always made sense to me… I was a football fan growing up, but I’d religiously keep track of the news and all the roster moves, so I felt like I’ve been doing this kind of thing most of my life…
